Job Title: Anaesthetic Practitioner (Orthopaedic Experience Required) Location: Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester Employer: Bluestones Medical Agency Pay Rate: £18.00 - £18.00PH* - Direct Engagement About the Role Bluestones Medical Agency is currently recruiting experienced Anaesthetic Practitioner with orthopaedic theatre experience to support surgical services at Countess of Chester Hospital. This role is ideal for skilled theatre practitioners who are confident in assisting with anaesthetic procedures and ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care throughout the perioperative journey. As an Anaesthetic Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting the anaesthetist and theatre team during orthopaedic procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and effective clinical care before, during, and immediately after surgery. Key Responsibilities Assist the anaesthetist with the preparation and administration of anaesthesia for orthopaedic procedures. Prepare and check anaesthetic equipment, drugs, and monitoring devices prior to surgery. Support patient care during induction, maintenance, and recovery from anaesthesia. Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in their condition. Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols and clinical standards. Work collaboratively with surgeons, theatre staff, and recovery teams. Maintain infection control standards and safe clinical practice within the theatre environment. Requirements Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC registration. Previous experience working as an Anaesthetic Nurse/Practitioner within theatre settings. Orthopaedic theatre experience is essential. Strong knowledge of anaesthetic equipment and patient monitoring. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
