Artist Residence Penzance is looking for a hands-on, quality-driven Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our small, independent kitchen.
This isn't a corporate role.

We're an independent boutique hotel — creative, welcoming and proudly unpretentious. Food is central to how guests experience our house, and we're looking for someone who wants to take real ownership of that.
The Role
You'll lead a small, seasonal kitchen in a relaxed but quality-focused environment.
Winter: confidently run solo shifts and keep standards high.
Summer: coach and inspire a small team through busy services and garden events.
You'll take responsibility for:
* Food GP and margins
* Costing, stock control and ordering
* Cleanliness, EHO and strong kitchen systems
* Consistency and quality on every plate
* Team leadership, mentoring and culture
* Clear communication with FOH and management
This is about pride, ownership and building something properly — not just running service.
