Description
We are looking for an innovative, self‑starting individual with a passion for working in the busy and dynamic bus industry. If this is you, join us at Transport UK London Bus. We are recruiting an Advanced Engineer (HGV Technician level 3) to join our Engineering team, working a shift pattern of 4 nights on and 4 nights off. You will have half of the year to yourself unless you choose to work voluntary overtime to further boost the highly competitive wages that are on offer. 5 day shifts are also available.
Key Responsibilities
 * Inspect, repair and maintain our buses.
 * Investigate and diagnose mechanical and electronic faults.
 * Record faults and work performed using a tablet.
 * Follow safety instructions and report any issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
 * Have at least an NVQ or City and Guilds Level 3 qualification for maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles, or an equivalent international qualification.
 * Or at least five years’ experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles, evidenced as required.
 * Training will be provided if you do not currently hold an IRTEC in service maintenance technician, inspection technician or advanced technician.
 * PCV licence is desirable but not essential; we can teach driving.
 * Good standard of maths and English.
 * Ability to read and understand instructions and service manuals.
 * Proficient use of fleet management technical computer systems.
 * Strong team player, working with direct colleagues or beyond.
 * Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly (e.g., working from a different depot or shift).
 * Willingness to undergo training requested by the service manager.
 * Ability to work well with own initiative.
 * Safety conscious in all actions.
