Equans is looking for a Fabric Engineer to join our team at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum dependent upon skills and experience. In addition you will also receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
* Support the Estates Management team in delivering 24-hour maintenance services.
* Promote a culture of excellent customer service, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to address maintenance issues effectively.
* Diagnose faults, repair, and maintain complex and specialised hospital equipment after suitable training.
* Undertake a variety of building tasks, including carpentry, painting, fitting ironmongery, and flooring.
* Actively participate in the Fabric Team on-call rota to ensure timely response to maintenance needs.
* Work in challenging environments, including unblocking drains and sewers, which may involve exposure to biological hazards and noxious fumes.
* Liaise with the Stores Team for requisition, supply, and security of materials.
* Monitor and check the work of contractors to ensure compliance with standards.
* Observe all relevant statutory requirements, particularly relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations, and Electrical IEE regulations.
* Carry out work across multiple trades where necessary and within the scope of competence.
* Carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response to urgent tasks.

Who are you?
* NVQ or City & Guilds Craft Certificate relevant to the trade or similar recognised trade
* Competent in Flooring and Upholstery
* Experience in Building maintenance and systems
* Basic competence with IT and PDA’s
* Due to the nature of the contract, successful candidate must be able to obtain a DBS Standard Check
