Diesel Technician – Battle Creek, MI (Contract-to-Hire)

We’re seeking an experiencedDiesel Technicianto perform maintenance and repairs on trucks, with a focus on engines, transmissions, and other key systems. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, values safety, and enjoys working in a well-equipped, climate-controlled shop.
----------------------------------- What You’ll Do
* Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and related systems.
* Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections.
* Complete and maintain accurate work records (both written and digital).
* Provide repair estimates and timelines to customers and supervisors.
* Communicate clearly with team members and customers.
* Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
----------------------------------- What You Bring
* State of Michigan Medium/Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificationor1–2 years of truck repair experience.
* Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
* Certification in SOM Medium/Heavy Duty Brakes (preferred).
* Experience with diesel repair (military, shop, or field).
* At least 1 year of preventative maintenance experience.
* Bonus: ASE certification, state mechanic license, or experience rebuilding motors.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
