My very busy well-established manufacturing clients are now recruiting a Maintenance/Facilities Advisor
8am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs
8am -1pm Friday
37 hours per week

Missions:
To maintain all production equipment, utilities, and site facilities in a safe, compliant, and fully operational condition, ensuring reliable performance, minimal downtime, and effective support to production and business operations, while continuously improving equipment and facilities in line with company’s goals and objectives.
Objectives:
1. Ensure all Maintenance / Facilities activities are conducted in accordance with H&S legislation and company’s Health, Safety, Security, and housekeeping policies.
2. Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and operational condition.
3. Maintain a 5S workplace organisation standard within the workshop and maintenance stores.
4. Maintain the building, grounds, and facilities (including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and minor works)
5. Ensure internal site services (e.g. lighting, heating, ventilation, compressed air) remain fully operational (please note we have an onsite electrician for electrical work)
6. Maintain appropriate stock levels of consumables and critical items.
7. Complete stock counts and cycle count of key items.
8. Review performance and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Keys Tasks:
Daily
9. Carry out daily checks of Health & Safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards.
10. Identify, investigate, and record any issues or hazards found.
11. Raise and action maintenance tickets where possible.
12. Support production teams with reactive maintenance and fault finding.
Weekly / Ongoing
13. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
14. Source and order parts required to complete maintenance tasks.
15. Maintain workshop and stores organisation (5S standards)
16. Support Factory Manager with maintenance and facilities requirements.
17. Assist other engineers where tasks require additional resource.
18. Drive the company vehicles to collect / deliver parts or products to customers
Monthly / Periodic
19. Conduct Health & Safety inspections (site walkarounds) with management.
20. Review site condition and identify areas for improvement.
21. Ensuring maintenance records and activities are up to date.
Be available and flexible to carry out tasks as necessary to support any general business operations
Key capabilities/Requirements:
The role requires a practical, hands-on approach with the ability to maintain both equipment and facilities effectively.

22. Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices
23. Mechanical engineering basic
24. Ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
25. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
26. Good organisational and communication skills
27. Basic IT skills for maintenance systems, logging, and stock control
28. Proactive and solution-focused approach to maintenance tasks
29. Clean Driving license and willingness to drive the company vehicles (Car/Van)
30. Minimum good DIY skills preferably general building maintenance background
