Job Title
Ultrasound Assistant – Fixed Term (12 months) – Princess Anne Hospital, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Overview
This fixed-term (12 month) contract covers maternity leave. The successful candidate will assist sonographers and clinicians during ultrasound examinations, provide phlebotomy services for first trimester antenatal screening, and support patients with mobility or other needs. You will work closely with sonographers, nurses and other ultrasound assistants.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist sonographers or clinicians during ultrasound examinations.
* Provide phlebotomy services for first trimester antenatal screening.
* Maintain stock and cleanliness of ultrasound rooms.
* Support patients with mobility or other needs.
* Work in multiple areas of Princess Anne Hospital, including early pregnancy clinic and gynaecology.
* Attend community-based ultrasound clinics at Bitterne Health Centre and New Forest Birth Centre (travel required – transport is not provided).
Working Hours
A flexible approach to working hours is essential; early evening until 6 p.m. and weekend shifts may be required.
