JOB TITLE: Procurement Category Lead (Direct Procurement)
DEPARTMENT: EMEA Supply Chain Operations

Role Overview - What's 'In-store'?
The Procurement Category Leader – Direct Procurement leads the end-to-end strategy for OEM, Hardware, Software, and Services categories.
The role combines strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial leadership, partnering cross-functionally to deliver value, manage risk, and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Management
Own and drive category strategies across OEM, Hardware, Software, and Services
Analyse market trends, cost drivers, and innovation opportunities to inform sourcing decisions
Optimise and consolidate the supplier base where appropriate
Commercial and Contract Leadership
Lead negotiations for complex commercial agreements, securing best-in-class pricing and terms
Partner with Legal to draft and manage supplier contracts
Oversee contract lifecycle management and ensure compliance
Business Partnering
Act as the strategic procurement partner to Product, Services, and Commercial teams
Align sourcing strategies with technology roadmaps and business objectives
Support customer opportunities through commercial and supplier engagement
Supplier Relationship and Performance Management
Build and manage strategic supplier relationships
Lead performance reviews and resolve supplier-related issues, acting as an escalation point when necessary
Drive value, innovation, and continuous improvement
Financial, Risk and Governance
Manage category spend and deliver savings initiatives
Identify and mitigate supply and market risks
Ensure procurement activities meet policy and compliance standards
What We're Looking For
3–6+ years' procurement experience, ideally across OEM, hardware, software, or services categories
Strong commercial negotiator with experience managing complex supplier agreements
Sound understanding of contract governance, risk, and compliance
Ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders
Commercially astute with strong analytical and financial awareness
Experience operating in global, matrixed organisations; fluency in English required, with additional European languages (e.g., French or German) advantageous
Degree qualified (CIPS preferred) with ERP/procurement system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
