Main duties of the job
As a Deputy Home Manager you’ll be ensuring that the level of clinical care we offer goes beyond just professional standards and statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements. This means providing specialist nursing support and advice, taking responsibility for resident care in the Home Manager’s absence, and supervising/coaching colleagues to deliver a service that is unparalleled in its empathy for resident issues.

Job responsibilities
In addition, HC-One looks for a Deputy Home Manager with a valid NMC PIN, knowledge of National Standards and the NMC Code of Practice, and a background in person‑centred care planning within a care home. Beyond those technical requirements, it is essential to bring a positive energy and natural ability to connect with people, to mentor and manage time effectively, and to keep meaningful records. Compassion, kindness and consideration when communicating with residents or co‑workers drive every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
