BMS require an expreienced Asset & Infrastructure Manager for a blue-chip Client in York.
Department Manufacturing Engineering Business unit or function Production Role reports to Engineering Manager Roles managed Semi-skilled Operatives, Maintenance Fitters/Engineers, Contractors Purpose of the role The Asset & Infrastructure Manager will oversee site facilities and physical assets, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and long-term asset performance. The role is split between Facilities Management and Asset Management, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic planning in alignment with the company’s objectives. Accountabilities of the role Your key accountabilities in this role will be:
• Support the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring all facilities and assets are maintained to the required standard, within budget.
• Coordinate planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs for site assets, infrastructure, equipment, and utilities.
• Monitor and manage the performance of service contracts, ensuring delivery meets agreed service levels.
• Assist the Engineering Manager in the development and implementation of capital and revenue projects, strategies for site improvements and modernisation to align with business needs.
• Ensure site compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including health and safety, building regulations, fire, electrical fixed wiring, and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and permits.
• Coordinate compliance audits, inspections, and remedial actions to address identified issues.
• Support in the management of the site maintenance and facilities team, providing leadership, guidance, coaching and support.
• Conduct performance reviews in order to support short and long-term development needs. Set and manage clear performance and behavioural expectations against department metrics.
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely completion of activities.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical support and direction to team members and contractors as needed.
• Select, manage, and evaluate external contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Review contractor RAMS ensuring they are fit for the task being planned and issue permit-to-work documents to contractors prior to them starting work.
• Monitor contractors working on site, adapt, change, or stop work as necessary ensuring safety is prioritised.
• Verify contractor credentials and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations onsite.
• Ensure adequate resources and materials are available for the smooth operation of facilities and maintenance tasks.
• Produce management reports regarding site performance, compliance, and maintenance activities.
• Communicate effectively with senior management, stakeholders, colleagues, and team members.
• Maintain transparency in operations, sharing updates, KPI’s, addressing all concerns proactively.
• To undertake any other reasonable management request.
