The Opportunity

We are looking for a true hospitality professional, with the flair to deliver sales and service at the highest level. As Sales Manager (Maternity Cover) you will be tasked with pro‑active sales activities to source and develop new business for the hotel, as well as maintain and grow relationships with existing key customers. With a focus on MICE, you will engage with industry partners, agents and directly with clients to reach agreed goals and deliver incremental revenue for the hotel.


Position Summary

Reporting into the Director of Sales, your duties and responsibilities will include:

* Prospecting – identify and target new business opportunities by defined industry segment, undertaking prospecting activity to engage with the client and realise potential revenues
* Face to Face Sales Calls & Presentations – develop and grow relationships, maximizing total revenue across all areas of the hotel by undertaking sales calls and achieve sales call targets
* Sales trips / Tradeshows – identify, organise and attend targeted sales trips and tradeshows locally, nationally and internationally as required and determined by the tradeshow planner
* Site Inspections – conduct site inspections, host fam trips and showcase the hotel through hosting regular corporate hospitality events in‑house or in‑market as required
* RFP completion and follow through – respond to requests for proposals in a timely and professional manner, engaging with the agent / client to fully understand the requirement and with key internal stakeholders on delivery and pricing
* Reporting & Administration – provide comprehensive debriefs on all sales activity, reporting figures, account forecasts and drawing up development plans within the time frame given and to the quality expected, keeping all systems and business processes updated as appropriate


Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.


Essential

* Effective communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and confidence to motivate and influence others
* Ability to use initiative to identify, prioritise and implement actions to achieve goals
* Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple and concurrent demands
* Ability to collaborate with others and act in an objective manner to achieve common goals
* Strong project management skills including ability to manage work through to completion and ensure deadlines are met
* Knowledge of systems to include Excel, Powerpoint, Word and ideally, HMS and Salesforce
* Significant work experience in related roles
* Fluent in English, verbal and writing skills


Desirable

* Sales Manager experience in the hospitality industry
* Pro‑active sales within the MICE segment working with PCO’s, agents and DMCs
* Background in 4 or 5 star hotels within the island or Ireland or UK market
