Job Title: Electrician - Water Sector Location: Oxford Contract Type: Freelance / Contract - 4 Months Rate: £280 p/d Start Date: 01/12 About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Electrician to support a range of projects within the water sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to work on essential infrastructure projects involving water treatment, pumping stations, and associated electrical systems. You'll be working alongside engineering teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant electrical installations, maintenance, and upgrades on water utility sites. Key Responsibilities: Install, test, and maintain electrical systems on water and wastewater treatment sites Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance Diagnose and repair faults with pumps, motors, control panels, and instrumentation Ensure all work complies with industry standards and health & safety regulations Read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and other contractors Requirements: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) ECS/JIB Gold Card (preferred) Experience working in the water industry (WIMES, WTW/WWTW sites) Familiarity with control panels, motors, pumps, and instrumentation Ability to work independently and manage your own workload Full UK driving licence and own tools/transport We Offer: Flexible freelance work with consistent project flow Competitive rates paid promptly Opportunity to work with leading contractors and utilities Supportive team and project management Please reach out to Adam at Matchtech if you are interested.
