About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive school community in Swindon.
You’ll be working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, leading targeted interventions in phonics, reading, and small-group learning. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, creating calm learning spaces, and helping children rediscover their love of learning.
Whether you come from a primary background or have worked across key stages, what matters most is your ability to connect, lead, and inspire.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Delivering tailored phonics and reading interventions
* Leading small group sessions (up to 5 pupils) and 1:1 support
* Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to re-engage in learning
* Working alongside teachers to plan, adapt, and review progress
* Modelling positive relationships and emotional regulation strategies
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
* Confident leading interventions in phonics and reading
* Strong communication skills and a nurturing, patient approach
* A team player who believes every pupil deserves to feel seen and supported
