Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust, is situated in Waltham Forest in North East London and serves a diverse local population of more than 350,000 people. Our mission is to deliver high quality clinical care for our patients, continue to develop our integrated care model across primary and secondary care, and provide excellent support and training for the next generation of clinicians.
The Dermatology Department at Whipps Cross provides a comprehensive and forward-thinking general dermatology service alongside a wide range of multidisciplinary specialist services. These include skin cancer diagnosis and management, Mohs micrographic surgery, genital dermatoses and psychodermatology. The service plays a key role within the local healthcare system, working collaboratively with community partners and supporting the local GPwSI dermatology service to deliver integrated pathways of care across primary and secondary settings.
Main duties of the job
Dermatology at Whipps Cross has a strong academic and innovation focus. We host a number of commercial and non-commercial clinical trials on site and maintain close academic links with the Centre for Cutaneous Research at Queen Mary University of London. The department is committed to service development, digital innovation, pathway redesign and improving patient access and experience within an increasingly high-demand specialty.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to provide clinical leadership to a well-established and ambitious dermatology team. The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the service, driving quality improvement, supporting workforce development and ensuring the continued delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. We are seeking a motivated leader with enthusiasm, vision and a passion for delivering excellent dermatological care within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment
