About Us:
As a fire engineering and fire risk management and building safety team, we are focused on creating safe, innovative, and sustainable solutions within the built environment. Your experience will be critical because we take our passion for improving the quality of life safety seriously.
Responsibilities:
1. Development of Fire Safety Strategy reports.
2. Means of escape analysis, including assessment of travel distances, escape routes, and exit widths/capacities; RSET calculations; development of emergency evacuation plans.
3. Assessment and understanding of the main British fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings such as Approved Document B (AD B), BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7974.
4. Knowledge of changes to the Building Regulations and upcoming safety bills such as the New Fire Safety Bill and Building Safety Bill.
5. Third-party review/design verification.
6. Attendance of internal and external design team meetings.
7. Site inspections with initial supervision.
8. Supporting the development of Fire Risk Assessment reports.
9. Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling using programs such as FDS, Pyrosim, and Smokeview.
10. Zone modeling with programs such as CFast and B-Risk.
11. Movement Modeling Analysis (PeMMA): evacuation and crowd simulations using computational models such as EXODUS and SIMULEX (desirable but not essential).
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven track record delivering FRAEWS. Experience working on external wall remediation projects. Track record of working as a Fire Engineer with experience in designing and implementing fire safety strategies. Understanding of fire dynamics, heat transfer, and smoke behavior principles in enclosed environments. Good knowledge of Bluebeam or similar for marking up architectural drawings with fire safety requirements/commentary. Basic understanding of Active Fire Protection (AFP) and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) systems. Basic knowledge of fire modeling simulations (using zone models such as CFAST and CFD-based models such as FDS). Desired - Chartered (Fire) Engineer.
We are looking to grow our team due to increased project demand and to diversify our current fire engineering offering.
