Overview
Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist- Band 7 Role. Newham University Hospital is part of Barts Health NHS Trust, the largest Trust in England. The hospital is accessible by DLR, Elizabeth Line, District Line, buses, and Greenway Footpath (cycleable). This is a full-time, permanent Monday–Friday, 9–5pm service. You will join the Tissue Viability team and provide expert and specialist support related to complex wounds to the clinical team, patients and care takers.
You will work closely with the Diabetes team, Vascular team, Podiatrists and Wound Care specialists to improve patient safety and share best practices.
Responsibilities
* Provide autonomous specialist, holistic patient-centred care and harm-reducing clinical and management solutions to achieve skin integrity, optimal wound healing and preservation of tissue health
* Provide specialist, expert advice and education to support our clinical teams to deliver safe and compassionate care, reduce harm and improve patient experience
* Assist in Trust-wide pressure ulcer reduction campaigns, working in partnership with the Tissue Viability Hospital Service Lead and site Directors of Nursing to sustain and embed improvements
* Provide expert advice on Tissue Viability related resources, equipment and products required for safe and effective care across Barts Health
* Develop, review, and evaluate Trust-wide Tissue viability policies, protocols/guidelines and adapt regional and national guidelines for local use
Qualifications / Requirements
* Advanced clinical skills with the ability to work autonomously
* Ability to provide expert and specialist support in relation to complex wounds to the clinical team, patients and care takers
* Experience working across professional boundaries and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
