We are recruiting for a Clinical Service Design and Quality Lead to join our Clinical Department. Main Responsibilities The Clinical Service Design Lead and Quality Lead will support the development of and new clinical service within the business but will have a main focus on SACT Oncology Homecare Service implementation. The role will set up processes and policies around safe, efficient, and patient-centred systemic anti-cancer therapy services delivered in the home or community setting. The postholder will work collaboratively with oncology clinicians, nursing teams, pharmacists, commissioners, and digital/operational partners to redesign pathways that improve patient experience, optimise capacity within acute oncology units, and support sustainable models of cancer care delivery. Service Design and Transformation Lead the end-to-end design of SACT homecare models, from concept through to training, implementation and evaluation. Map current patient pathways and identify opportunities for clinical, operational, and digital improvement. Co-design new pathways in partnership with clinicians, pharmacy, and community partners to ensure safe and efficient care delivery outside hospital settings. Develop and maintain clinical governance frameworks for homecare SACT delivery. Awareness of the SACT passport. Clinical Leadership Provide expert clinical input into service design decisions to ensure adherence to oncology safety standards, aseptic preparation protocols, and SACT administration policies. Support and guide multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in adopting new models of care. Contribute to training, competency frameworks, and clinical supervision for homecare nursing teams. Ensure pharmacovigilance, SACT verification, and escalation pathways are embedded in home-based models. Quality, Safety, and Governance Lead on risk assessments, incident reviews, and mitigation strategies related to homecare SACT delivery. Ensure compliance with MHRA, CQC, RQIA, CIS, NICE, and local clinical governance standards. Establish KPIs, dashboards, and audit metrics for service performance and patient outcomes. Drive a culture of continuous improvement through clinical audit and patient feedback mechanisms. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, nursing leads, service managers, commissioners and groups such as UKONS. Work with digital and data teams to design supporting infrastructure (e.g., digital scheduling, EPR integration, remote monitoring tools). Engage patients and carers in co-production workshops to shape patient experience and safety. Liaise with commercial and third-party homecare providers to ensure alignment with clinical governance and contractual standards. Strategic and Financial Oversight Support business case development for homecare expansion and resource modelling. Identify cost efficiencies and capacity gains through transformation of SACT pathways. Contribute to strategic workforce planning and skill mix optimisation. Monitor budgetary implications and value-based outcomes. Experience in oncology or haematology or clinical services, including SACT delivery (desirable) Proven track record of leading service redesign or transformation projects in healthcare. Experience working across acute and community settings. Familiarity with NHS commissioning, governance, and regulatory frameworks. Experience with digital transformation and data-driven service improvement (desirable). (desirable). Qualifications: Registered healthcare professional (e.g., NMC, HCPC, GPhC).
