Laboratory Technician The Opportunity: If you are seeking a Laboratory Technician’s role within an interesting, growing business who work across a number of industry sectors, this could be the opportunity you seek. You will be required to work across a 3 shift pattern on a rotation (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am) which will reward you with a 15% uplift on the basic salary. The Role: Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using; Combustion, Optical emission and X-ray Fluorescence Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers Preparation of samples for analysis Routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment Inputting of results to company database Calculating bath additions during heat manufacturePreferred Skills: A science background with good mathematical and computer skills. Ability to interpret results and make decisions on alloy chemistry adjustments within the scope of the role. Flexibility to work within a small team to provide 24/7 laboratory cover with the ability to work across this 3 shift work pattern. Meticulous, with exceptional attention to detail. Able to work alone, self-sufficiently, and independently prioritise tasks.
