The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients in support of a registered nurse (RN) / Operating Department practitioner (ODP). The post holder will routinely work unsupervised, with the wider theatre team available for reference at all times. The post holder will also carry out assigned duties involving direct and indirect patient care within the theatre environment and will perform the physical, technical and emotional aspects of patient care in a busy accurate responsible manner.

What we’ll need you to bring
* SVQ III in peri-operative care or equivalent experience – peri-operative experience.
* SVQ III in healthcare or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
* Initial induction period of up to 3 months, followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency within 12 months following induction.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary / agency team.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* Active participation in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Location
The role will be based in theatre within University Hospital Wishaw. Shortlisted candidates may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
