Position Details:
* Job Title: Yard Operative/Saw Operator
* Location: East London
* Working Pattern: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 7 am - 4 pm)
* Annual Salary: £26,520 - £30,000 - dependant on experience
What You'll Do:As our Saw Operator, Wood Machinist, you will be at the heart of our production process. Your responsibilities will include:
* Setting up and operating various sawing machines, including band saws, circular saws, and multi-rip saws, as well as moulders and spindles.
* Measuring and cutting wood to precise specifications using a variety of measuring tools.
* Maintaining sawing equipment and performing minor repairs as needed.
* Working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet production goals.
* Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications We're Looking For:
* 1-2 years of experience in sawing or woodworking is preferred.
* Full training will be given
* Strong math and problem-solving skills to tackle challenges head-on.
* A meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
* Commitment to following safety procedures and regulations.
Physical Demands:This role requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a noisy environment.
