Overview
This is a clinical post focused in the Rheumatology outpatients setting with potential for education, research, and quality improvement.
Clinical Commitments
Clinical commitments will be up to 7 outpatient clinics per week. There will be a requirement to assess and manage Rheumatology in-patients. One clinical session per week will cover the rheumatology helpline to answer clinical queries from patients and one clinical session to write prescriptions for biologics for both inpatients and outpatients.
Attendance at a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting regarding the use of biologics and treatments for ANCA associated vasculitis and complex connective diseases.
There may be opportunities for the post-holder to get experience in a variety of specialist clinics including Early Inflammatory Arthritis, GCA, Autoimmune Connective Tissue Disease with access to MSK and Vascular Ultrasound. There are also opportunities for involvement in education and clinical trials with provision of appropriate training.

Person Specification
Essential
* Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
* MB BS (or equivalent medical qualification)
* Eligible to work at Core Level
* Demonstrable previous NHS experience. ALS provider or equivalent. Experienced in Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance and the benefits of how this improves the quality of care provided to patients and ensuring this is embedded in clinical practice.
* Ability to teach and motivate junior medical staff. Has achieved appropriate level of Foundation competencies.
Desirable
* Formal teaching courses / qualifications
* Experience in specialty relevant to application. Previous experience of clinical simulation either as a candidate or instructor.
* Previous experience of quality improvement methodology and practice.
