Working within Gateley’s Property New Business team, the Bid Manager will support partners to win profitable work through the sales and tender process. You will own and project‑manage responses to formal tender opportunities, producing credentials and proposals that help secure work across the Property Platform. The role requires proactive delivery of tenders on time and in compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead tenders and proposals for both regional and national opportunities, including legal, consultancy and cross‑platform bids.
* Identify, scope and evaluate bids alongside the other Bid Manager and New Business team, guiding bid/no‑bid decisions and developing winning strategies.
* Project‑manage bids: initiate kick‑off emails, coordinate progress meetings, manage pricing and contract reviews, and ensure full compliance with all requirements.
* Draft, edit and proof‑read compelling content, liaising with support departments (IT, HR, Accounts, Facilities and Compliance) to maintain accuracy.
* Ensure all collateral follows Gateley brand guidelines and coach fee earners for presentations.
* Analyse pitch wins/losses and conduct proactive debriefs, following up on post‑sale bid promises.
* Develop and share best practice across the Property New Business team, maintaining a knowledge base and cross‑selling opportunities within the Platform.
* Participate in ad‑hoc projects with the wider New Business team as required.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bid or tender management role in a B2B environment.
* Experience in the property and/or construction sectors preferred, but not essential.
* Hands‑on experience with formal tenders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence.
* Strong client relationship management at a senior level.
* Knowledge of CRM systems and online research tools.
* Excellent IT and numeracy skills.
* Strong personal organisation skills and fastidious attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise own workload effectively.
