The firm is renowned for advising high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and trustees on the full spectrum of UK and cross-border tax and wealth structuring matters. With offices across major global financial centres, the firm acts for a truly international client base — spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas — and is regularly instructed by family offices, private banks, and fiduciary service providers. Its private client team is recognised for delivering sophisticated and pragmatic advice across both onshore and offshore structures, with a deep understanding of complex residence, domicile, and multi-jurisdictional tax issues. The Role The successful candidate will join a market-leading team that handles some of the most complex and high-value private client mandates in the market. The role encompasses strategic tax advice, wealth structuring, and estate planning for UK-resident and international clients. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers advising on matters including: UK tax planning for UK and non-UK domiciled individuals (including remittance basis and domicile reviews) Establishment, restructuring, and administration of UK and offshore trusts, companies, and foundations Cross-border estate and succession planning for multi-jurisdictional families Tax-efficient structuring of investments, real estate portfolios, and operating businesses International relocation and pre-arrival planning for HNW/UHNW individuals moving to or leaving the UK Advising trustees, protectors, and family offices on their UK tax exposure and compliance obligations Coordination with fiduciary, banking, and wealth management professionals across multiple jurisdictions Advising on HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and settlements involving complex tax positions Key Responsibilities Deliver technically precise, commercially focused UK and international tax advice Draft and review trust deeds, wills, family charters, and corporate governance instruments Lead onshore and offshore structuring projects with cross-border legal and tax teams Liaise with counsel, accountants, trustees, and investment advisers to ensure cohesive client outcomes Manage client relationships with discretion and a high degree of professionalism Contribute to business development and thought leadership within the private wealth sector Supervise and mentor junior associates and trainees as part of the team’s development strategy Candidate Profile Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with ideally 3–7 years PQE in private client or tax law (other levels considered) Experience advising both UK-domiciled and non-domiciled clients on personal tax and structuring Strong knowledge of income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and the UK anti-avoidance regime Familiarity with trust and company laws in key offshore jurisdictions (e.g. Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman, BVI) Experience coordinating cross-border advice and managing multi-jurisdictional projects Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in building lasting client relationships A commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex tax concepts into practical, client-friendly solutions To confidentially discuss this position further, please contact info@greenwaysearch.com or via phone: 07944 999 465
