About The Role -
We are looking to appoint a
dedicated and inspirational English Teacher
to take responsibility for delivering English within a small, alternative provision environment. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced teacher to focus on high-quality teaching and learning, supported by small class sizes and a collaborative team.
The role will involve delivering both
AQA GCSE English Language and English Literature
to groups of pupils who benefit from a personalised, tailored approach. You will be working as the sole English specialist on site, supported by a Trust-wide network of English teachers who share resources, expertise and best practice.
A central part of the role will be to
support literacy, reading, and oracy development across the school.
As part of this, you will receive full training in Read Write Inc. and work alongside experienced primary colleagues to improve pupils' fluency and comprehension. This ensures every child can access learning, regardless of prior barriers.
This position offers you the chance to make a profound difference in the lives of pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education, within a supportive and professionally rewarding setting.
What We're Looking For -
We Are Seeking An English Teacher Who Can Demonstrate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
and strong subject knowledge in English.
Experience teaching across
KS2-KS4
, including GCSE English Language and Literature.
A compassionate, consistent and determined approach to supporting pupils with additional needs or those who have lost confidence in learning.
The ability to identify barriers to learning and adapt strategies to help every pupil succeed.
A commitment to personalised teaching and evidence-informed practice.
An openness to continuous professional development, particularly in literacy intervention and alternative provision.
Strong classroom management skills that foster a safe, nurturing and respectful learning environment.
This role is suited to both experienced practitioners and those seeking to grow within a highly supportive environment.
