Background
An opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join the Financial Mis-selling team. This rapidly expanding team deals with a variety of litigated claims and Ombudsman complaints relating to a wide variety of financial and insurance products.
Areas Covered
* Mis-sold pensions
* Mis-sold mortgages
* Mis-sold investments, finance contracts and energy contracts
* Unregulated collective investment schemes
* Business interruption insurance
Role Responsibilities
* Deal with initial enquiries and undertake preliminary risk assessments.
* Arrange client retainers and deal with client queries.
* Consider documents, prepare pre‑action letters and/or letters of complaint.
* Provide litigation support including drafting witness statements and assisting with disclosure reviews.
* Provide client updates.
* Arrange client award payments and matter billing.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidate will have a law degree or similar academic achievement, be IT literate and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Other desirable qualities include:
* Proactive work ethic and ability to work well in a team.
* Strong organisational, time‑management and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
* Good written skills, empathy, and an ability to communicate with clients via telephone, video calls and email.
