Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Bid Writer to join our highly successful bid team. This permanent, full‑time role (40 hours per week) offers remote working subject to business needs, with some requirement to travel to Portland, Dorset, where our head office is based. Salary of up to £45,000 per annum depends on relevant experience and transferable skills.

About the role
You will be responsible for writing, editing and proofreading well‑thought‑out and compelling content for bids in line with the specifications provided by our Local Authority/NHS customers. Working with internal stakeholders, you will analyse and understand the sector and services we deliver to create high‑quality content and increase win rates. This is a varied role covering a wide range of social care services across the business.
Your primary duties will include the following:
* Take ownership of the tenders allocated and effectively manage the completion of method statements/other relevant activities from start to finish, within dedicated/tight timescales
* Develop strong relationship management with key stakeholders, working closely with relevant technical heads and service specialists to gain all required information to complete the bid
* Work with the Senior Bid Writers to take a proactive role in writing standard content, CVs, case studies, capability statements and project profiles, closing gaps where possible by interviewing/questioning relevant subject‑matter experts across the business
* Ensure consistent quality and methods of content creation are used
* Develop/coordinate relevant appendices required to support the method statements or other written elements of the bid, in liaison with relevant key stakeholders
* Ensure effective version control of the method statements and supporting appendices, in liaison with the Senior Bid Writers and Bid Administrator
* Research and conduct a deep dive of regulatory requirements, project scope/specifications, service requirements, customer strategy documents, local initiatives and competitor analysis
* Support the presentation team with preparation for presentations/interviews and creation of PowerPoints/other documents where required as part of the tender process
* Maintain awareness of key areas of policy, legislation and best practice within the sector
* Support the Senior Bid Writers in developing and maintaining the method statement and evidence library across the different Agincare companies
* Engage in professional development, learn from internal/external feedback and ensure improvements are implemented within tender responses
* Support the business in any other tasks required, e.g., creation of case studies and proposals
About You
* Previous experience as a bid writer, preferably with experience gained from the Health & Social Care sector
* Ability to multi‑task and manage your time effectively to deliver within often tight deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
* Excellent writing abilities, proven IT skills (particularly Microsoft Office), and research skills
* Ability to work independently while effectively using your own initiative
* Highly self‑motivated and proactive
* Awareness of social care policy/sector (desirable but not essential) and willingness and commitment to learning about the care industry quickly
