Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the achievement of operational targets and KPIs by supporting production within a mechanical field requiring skilled intervention, ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Operations with assembly and installation of seat/cabin sub-assemblies and final assemblies to design data within required cycle and DPU.
* Assist with mechanical seat/cabin function tests, fault finding, and diagnostic analysis.
* De-snag mechanical installations and complete supporting documentation.
* Inspect and verify installation of mechanical assemblies and all supporting documentation.
* Perform minor rework operations within procedural compliance.
* Use and control of online tool jigs and fixtures.
* Create production and assembly aids including jigs and fixtures.
* Understand the impact of process and product viability of components during fitment on line.
* Support and assist in Operator training.
* Continuously review and update production standards in collaboration with manufacturing process technicians and engineers.
* Support product launch into production.
* Assist Production Operators with technical and quality issues.
* Mentor and train colleagues in working practices.
* Implement 5S standards.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities and support best working practices.
* Support engineers in problem solving activities.
Job Requirements
Candidate requirements include:
* Excellent engineering mathematics skills and Mechanical NVQ Level 3.
* Previous assembly manufacturing experience in product development and continuous improvement environments.
* Applying problem-solving techniques (A3, 8D, 4D, QRQC).
* Understanding of engineering science and principles.
* Ability to follow engineering drawings.
* Manual dexterity and tool skills.
* Good mathematical ability.
* Holds or is working towards a Mechanical Engineering HNC.
* Engineering background experience.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
