Mary Elliot Academy supports pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school provides a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop communication, independence, and life skills. As a Specialist SEND Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs. This includes classroom support, personal care, sensory activities, and helping pupils access a meaningful, engaging curriculum. This role is ideal for experienced SEND professionals or candidates from care, healthcare, or specialist education backgrounds who are passionate about making a real difference. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility where required Support communication using visual and alternative methods Help deliver engaging, sensory-based learning activities Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment As a Specialist SEND Support Assistant with ABC Teachers, You Will Receive: Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
