About the Role As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing teaching and learning across the school. Working alongside class teachers, you will help deliver engaging lessons, lead targeted interventions, and support pupils with a diverse range of learning needs. Key Responsibilities Support teachers in planning and delivering high‑quality lessons across the primary curriculum Provide focused support for pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings Lead intervention programmes for children with additional needs, including SEND and EAL Create an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment Support pupils’ emotional and social development, fostering confidence and resilience Prepare and organise learning materials and assist in monitoring pupil progress Maintain strong communication with staff, parents, and carers Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and events What We’re Looking For Previous experience as an HLTA or in a similar primary school role HLTA qualification or equivalent (highly desirable) Solid understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children Confident in managing behaviour and promoting positive learning Ability to adapt to individual pupil needs and champion inclusive education Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
