Join a dedicated team that compromises of therapeutic workers, a multi-disciplinary team and a clinical team to work at our therapeutic community with a school and clinical support onsite. Our client uses a wide range of approaches that could include: Psychotherapy, CBT, EMDR, Schema focussed therapy and life story that help promote healing from trauma, build confidence and self-esteem to support the children to believe in themselves to realise their potential and ambitions
Our goal is to help young people with social, emotional and mental health needs between the ages of 11-18 to recover from their underpinning trauma in a therapeutic community setting. You will work as a team alongside the clinical and education teams to inspire young people to move forward to achieve positive outcomes and to rebuild their own personal self esteem and confidence.
Due to the nature of this role you will be required to work shifts that range from Monday - Sunday, With every other weekend off.

Job responsibilities of a Youth engagement worker will include:
6. This role would involve working in a residential service supporting young people between the ages of 11-18 with all aspects of their daily lives
7. Providing therapeutic support to children that have emotional behavioural difficulties and promoting independence
8. You will be responsible for keeping a positive and proactive approach to progressing the young people in their day to day activities and achievements
9. Engaging with young people from all walks of life on a daily basis out in the community and in the residential home to support them to move forward to achieve positive outcomes
10. Providing emotional support
11. Being emotionally resilient
12. Understanding and knowledge of safeguarding processes
13. Keeping record of support and writing care plans
14. Focusing on positive outcomes for the people you support
15. De-escalating challenging behaviour

Key requirements/skills:
17. Must have a caring nature and be willing to support vulnerable people
18. Experience or an interest in EBD, SEMH, Overly sexualised behaviour and Mental health
19. A qualification in: Psychology, Health and Social Care, Criminology, Teaching
20. Personal experience and the ability to build a rapport with people from all walks of life
21. Must hold a full UK Driving license
22. Must be willing to work shifts that include weekends
23. Must be over 21 years of age
