Kenilworth Primary School is a warm, welcoming and vibrant one-form entry community school in Borehamwood. We are seeking a high-quality, experienced Reception Class Teacher and EYFS Phase Leader to join our team from September 2026.
This pivotal role splits time between delivering outstanding, creative classroom teaching within our Reception class and acting as an effective leader across our Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception).
As a key member of the Middle Leadership Team, you will be at the forefront of driving early years excellence, working closely with the Headteacher to ensure the best possible provision, wellbeing and academic foundation for every child.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead by Example: Model outstanding teaching, early years pedagogy, and professional standards for staff across the EYFS phase.
* Drive Curriculum & Assessment: Take strategic responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of a high-quality, play‑based curriculum and the EYFS profile.
* Support & Challenge Staff: Work collaboratively with early years colleagues, using robust assessment to monitor student progress and ensure high-quality continuous provision.
* Build Relationships: Foster strong, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children's transition into school and early development.
* Contribute to School Vision: Act as a creative, strategic thinker within the leadership team, ensuring that our youngest learners have the best possible start to their education.

* A resilient, reflective professional with excellent interpersonal skills to inspire, motivate, and challenge a small, dedicated team.
* A practitioner with a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices, adapting to meet diverse pupil needs (including EAL and SEND) from the very start of their school journey.
* An individual with a proven track record of driving pupil progress and maintaining high expectations for early years outcomes.
