Overview
Thank you for your interest in the position of Patient Pathway Assistant, a role within our Radiology Admin Team. The role involves specialised reception cover, booking specialised Imaging appointments, and providing administrative support. You will be frontline in meeting and welcoming patients, visitors and staff to the department and should be confident in dealing with people at all levels. The role covers Basildon Hospital and offsite locations and requires travel to those sites.
Responsibilities
* Provide reception cover and handle reception duties, including checking in and out patients and dealing with queries face to face and over the phone.
* Book specialised imaging appointments and manage administrative tasks.
* Serve as front-line contact for patients, visitors and staff and support a call centre environment.
* Cover different reception areas and a call centre within the main Basildon site and four offsite locations; travel to these sites is required.
* Cross-site coverage as needed (potential cross-site work at Southend or Broomfield Hospitals).
* Work within a rota with various shifts; contribute to the department’s opening hours from 8am to 8pm.

Working pattern
The job is 37.5 hours per week with various shifts from Monday to Sunday. The department is open from 8am to 8pm. Example shifts may include 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, and 12pm-8pm. All shifts operate on a rota basis.

* Experience in a patient or customer-facing role.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* Attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
* High level of computer literacy and ability to multi-task.
* Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
* Flexibility to cover colleague absence and to change days/hours if needed.
