SEN Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a confident and compassionate SEN Cover Supervisor to join a special needs school in Smallfield, Surrey supporting students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia, and anxiety-related barriers to learning.
In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning while supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development in a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the teacher
* Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
* Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN
* Support behaviour management in line with school policies
* Encourage positive engagement and participation in learning
* Assist with communication, social interaction, and independence skills
* Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to support student progress
Skills & Qualifications
* GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4/C or above)
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH)
* Strong behaviour management and classroom supervision skills
* Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or Cover Supervisor training) are desirable
