This is a senior Maintenance Manager position within a complex, high-volume manufacturing site. Sitting as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll take full ownership of maintenance strategy, engineering compliance, asset care, and site reliability, while leading a multi-disciplinary engineering function.
The Maintenance Manager will shape how maintenance is delivered, how assets are cared for, and how engineering compliance is governed across the site — balancing hands-on technical credibility with strategic leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing: Maintenance Manager
* Owning and delivering the site-wide Asset Care and Maintenance strategy
* Leading all engineering compliance, including health & safety, statutory inspections, and audit readiness
* Acting as the senior authority for engineering standards, risk management, and safe systems of work
* Managing and developing a multi-layer engineering structure including:
* Shift Asset Care Technicians
* Compliance Team Leader
* Project Engineer
* Asset Care Workflow Coordinator
* Process Engineer
* Driving a zero-accident safety culture across engineering and asset care
* Overseeing CMMS usage and developing a data-driven maintenance culture
* Leading CAPEX, project delivery, and installation or improvement of production lines
* Ensuring all projects meet ISO 9001, BRC-loop, and internal quality standards
* Managing budgets, maintenance spend, and long-term asset planning
* Supporting continuous improvement, TPM activity, and process capability
* Recruiting, coaching, and succession-planning within the engineering function
* Working closely with operations, planning, finance, and senior stakeholders
What We’re Looking For: Maintenance Manager
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or senior engineering leader
* Background managing maintenance teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong understanding of engineering compliance, statutory requirements, and audits
* Formal health & safety management training
* Solid engineering foundation (mechanical, electrical, or technical bias)
* Experience delivering projects using structured project or stage-gate methods
* Ability to lead, influence, and hold standards at senior leadership level
* Commercial awareness with strong planning and organisational skills
* Experience in plastics manufacturing advantageous, not essential
