Job Description:
Are you ready to help shape the future of HR in a tech-focused business? Are you a robust, hands-on HR leader who thrives on autonomy and impact? Our client is hiring its first-ever HR Operations Manager. This is a newly created role with real breadth, influence, and ownership—ideal for someone who relishes the opportunity to build, streamline, and lead from the ground up.
Our client is a leading technology business seeking a proactive and experienced HR Operations Manager to take ownership of their HR operations and drive the people agenda forward. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and wants to make their mark.
The role:
Reporting directly to the Head of People, you'll play a central role in strengthening their HR infrastructure and scaling best-in-class people practices. You’ll lead core HR operations, including payroll, employee engagement, recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and systems management—ensuring smooth and strategic processes.
This role offers the opportunity to shape culture, enhance employee experience, and support strategic people initiatives across the organization.
It requires initiative, problem-solving skills, and a rigorous, caring approach. You’ll embed effective processes, unlock data insights, and create engaging employee experiences.
You will own all HR operations, overseeing policies, processes, pay reviews, and benefits renewals. You’ll manage payroll and benefits, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
Handle employee relations confidently, supporting managers with practical, legally sound advice. Drive employee engagement initiatives and support recruitment and onboarding processes.
Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, supporting managers and navigating complex cases to ensure a fair, inclusive workplace.
Manage HR systems and produce metrics to inform decision-making. Review and refine HR processes for operational excellence as the organization scales.
Maintain compliance with employment law, GDPR, and audit requirements. Shape and implement competitive, inclusive compensation and benefits frameworks.
The person:
Degree educated, ideally CIPD L7 qualified (or L5 with ongoing studies).
Experience in HR operations, preferably in a technology or fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
Experience managing HR systems and reporting tools.
Proactive, self-starter with excellent communication skills and stakeholder credibility.
A collaborator, problem solver, with integrity and discretion. Passionate about employee experience and human-centric HR initiatives.
Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in implementing change in growing organizations.
