Red Sky is recruiting on behalf of our client for a strategic and experienced Operations Manager / General Manager to lead their busy workshop operations based at Gatwick Airport.
This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong background in automotive, engineering, or logistics operations. You will be responsible for driving performance, compliance, and service excellence, directly supporting the smooth operation of airport ground services.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and allocate engineering/operational resources effectively
* Ensure timely, cost-effective workshop repairs with the Workshop Manager
* Drive continuous improvement, reduce inefficiencies, and uphold compliance
* Manage budgets, reporting, and performance metrics
* Oversee vehicle and equipment standards, audits, and certifications
* Maintain strong client relationships and excellent service delivery
* Support recruitment, team engagement, and HR processes
* Ensure full compliance with airport, safety, and regulatory requirements
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience as a Workshop Operations Manager or in a similar role in the automotive or logistics sectors
* Strong background in workshop or engineering operations management
* Demonstrated ability to manage teams, optimize resources, and deliver results under pressure
* Sound understanding of health & safety, airport operations, and regulatory compliance
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of generating operational reports and performance analysis
Desirable:
* Higher education qualification in business, engineering, or operations management (or equivalent management training/experience)
* Experience in multi-site or remote site operational leadership
* Understanding of the equipment leasing and lifecycle management process
* Exposure to GSE procurement and technical specifications
