Main purpose of job:

The day to day management of performance to meet operational, service and administrative KPI's.

The management and motivation of subordinate staff to ensure a high level of quality and efficiency is maintained.

To deliver a high quality service within budget.

The management of all associated procedures and processes to ensure our activities are fully auditable and transparent and that our legal obligations are fulfilled.

Monitor and report on all aspects of activity and spend.

Main tasks and key responsibilities of job (work will not be limited to these tasks, for guidance only):

· Monthly and Weekly scheduling and resource planning against anticipated forecasts

· Daily operation of vehicles and staff in a cost-effective manner to ensure optimum resource utilisation to meet customer requirements

· Daily operation of stores including stock control, ordering and reporting, inventory management to ensure best use DIO DAS budget through continual monitoring of OSL's

· Daily operation and control of the refurbishment programme, including minor repairs, damage reporting, claims handling and monitoring, condition assessment and disposal

· Provide operational support and assistance to the DAS Account Manager

· Lead and manage your team in a manner that maximises their strengths

· Identify and report on areas to improve operational efficiency

· Maintain operational and administrative processes within Moveware system

· Ensure that regulations and legislation are complied with at all times

· Ensure full compliance with Operators Licence and tachograph legislation and regulations (as applicable)

· Maintain accurate staff attendance and activity and training records

· Produce daily job sheets and ensure that all sheets are handed in at the end of each working day

· Liaise with customers and Cell Planners on schedules and operational matters as appropriate

· Ensure procedures exist to develop a continual process of improvement within the warehouse environment

· To ensure the adherence to all company H & S, environmental and quality standards at all times

· Timely submission of monthly activity, performance and assurance reports

Company Management:

· As a member of the management team, take collective responsibility with other managers for the overall performance of the contract, as defined by the DAS Account Manager and the contract director.

· Continually review internal and external procedures for improved efficiency at all levels.

· Promote good communications at all levels within the division and be a catalyst for proactive improvement within the team as a whole.

· Work closely on a day to day basis with other managers to ensure efficient communications between departments.

· Participate in the monthly review meetings with the DAS Account Manager as directed and be responsible for follow up actions as agreed.

· Review, confirm and recommend salary/Bonus adjustments based on merit as appropriate or when requested by the DAS Account Manager. .

Training and Development

· Appraise all subordinates in a timely and effective fashion, highlighting training and development needs and setting SMART objectives.

· Be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the department training matrix and for the ongoing training of all staff under your control.

· Review training needs through a minimum of one appraisal meeting with each member of the team per annum and quarterly department meetings.

· Create new training programmes as the need arises.

· With your colleagues, encourage 'job before' and 'job after' training and development.

· Responsibility for the conduct of all company issued Tool Box Talks for all site personnel and the formal recording of such mandatory training for audit purposes.

· Prepare and review in the light of experience, subordinates job descriptions with the DAS Account Manager.

Recruitments and Discipline

· Instruct HR in the criteria for replacement/recruitment of staff as appropriate.

· Be responsible for the final recruitment decision.

· Take responsibility for the discipline of staff under your control up to and including final written warnings. HR advice must be sought at each stage of any disciplinary action.

Special Requirements:

This role requires the person to have the following:

· Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) – if applicable to site

· Category C1 Driving Licence

· PAT testing certification

· IT literate

· People management skills

· Customer service skills

· Knowledge of basic employment legislation

· Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation

Standards:

· To ensure all members of the team are in clean and presentable uniform, including PPE and act to an appropriate standard to give anyone the correct impression of a quality organisation.

· Ensure that all company property is maintained at the highest level and faults and defects are promptly reported.

Health and Safety:

· Ensure you always give everyone the correct impression of a quality organisation. To further this aim, it is essential that company property under your control is maintained at the highest level. You need to be aware of your obligations under the health and safety at work act of 1974 and report any faults or defects promptly to your health and safety representative.

· The company encourages a clean desk and tidy office policy in conjunction with the above statement.

General:

· The above is not an exhaustive list of your duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as become necessary towards achieving the overall business objectives of the organisation.

· You need to be aware that the Company has a total 'no smoking' policy and if you wish to smoke you may find the opportunity restricted on Company premises and client locations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £29,000.00 per year
