Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapist in the Wokingham and Reading area to support their Talking Therapies Service. This service is for Children who have a range of Mental Health Issues. The contract will run for 3 Months (with likelihood of extension).
Job Purpose: Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist
Pay Rate: £35 LTD p/h & £250 Welcome Bonus
Location: Erlegh House - Wokingham and Reading
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (Flexible)
Contract: Full-Time | Part-Time
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the needs and views of the children and young people are at the heart of everything we do: offering evidence based, holistic and child-centred assessments and interventions.
2. Use advanced specialist knowledge and levels of experience appropriately and effectively across a range of work practices which is underpinned by comprehensive and extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
3. To undertake high quality assessments of children and young people and make recommendations about appropriate therapeutic interventions for each child or young person, in accordance with individual assessed needs.
4. To provide line management and clinical supervision to allocated Therapies Assistants within the setting and to support Newly Qualified Speech and Language Therapists within the setting.
5. To work closely with children, young people, their parents, and staff to ensure a personalised plan of delivery.
6. To participate in service and practice development.
7. To identity training needs, develop and facilitate training sessions to staff and parents/carers
Essential
8. Registered with the HCPC
9. Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
10. Substantial experience working with Younger People in a School Setting
11. Full UK license and access to own car
12. Ability to write SMART goals, concise reports for the EHCP process
