Job Title: Workforce Development Director Physical Location: Kent Campus - Kent, OH Salary: $67,706 - $81,888 Basic Function: Provide leadership and strategy to workforce development team. Foster collaborative relationships with industry and regional partners in regions served by Kent State University. Reports to designated supervisor. Additional Basic Function – if applicable: Examples of Duties: Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: Actively engage with business and industry organizations for the purpose of building new client prospects, maintaining current prospect relationships, selling products, and staying informed of industry trends and needs. Develop and implement strategic plan guiding relationship building and sales efforts. Collaborate with leadership to build strategy around developing new leads and programs. Collaborate and share information with colleges and departments. Support and motivate team in meeting sales and productivity goals. Collaborate with marketing team to develop marketing strategy for workforce development products. Review and approve proposals, contracts, and training plans that reflect organization's needs and the university's solutions. Establish and meet individual sales and productivity goals. Establish team sales and productivity goals. Collaborate with unit team to identify criteria for product evaluation and develop evaluation tools. Conduct product evaluation regularly. Maintain relationships with clients. Recruit facilitators and subject matter experts to develop and deliver training. Monitor budget. Maintain electronic records utilizing client relationship management software. Provide direct supervision of unclassified staff. Perform related duties as assigned. Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Five years of relevant experience in outreach, sales, and/or training and development. License/Certification: Knowledge Of: Workforce development concepts Strategic planning Skill In: Written and interpersonal communication Performance consulting Sales Administering and implementing strategic plan initiatives Adhering to deadlines Ability To: Provide leadership and direction Maintain client relationships Possess considerable attention to detail and maintain a high level of customer service Use data to inform strategy and planning Oversee and manage multiple priorities and projects Travel regionally Preferred Qualifications – if applicable: Assessments: Asterisk (*) indicates knowledge, skills, abilities which may require assessments.
