Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Family Contact Worker to work with Greater Manchester Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week, based from the Didsbury area. The post holder will support the delivery of supervised and supported contact between children and their families within the Children and Families service. Overview: The role involves supervising and supporting contact between children and their families, completing observations, and producing clear written records to support safeguarding and care planning. The service is open to candidates from a range of children’s services backgrounds including family support, early help, residential childcare and youth work. Main Duties: * Facilitate, supervise and observe contact sessions between children and their families * Set up and manage contact arrangements in line with agreed plans * Provide practical support and guidance to children and parents during contact * Complete observations and contribute to ongoing assessments * Produce clear and accurate written records following contact sessions * Work closely with social workers and other professionals to support safeguarding and care planning * Manage challenging behaviour and emotional situations appropriately * Escalate concerns in line with child protection procedures Essential Criteria: * Experience of working with children and families within a support or care setting * Understanding of child development and safeguarding principles * Ability to manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner * Confident written and verbal communication skills * Experience of completing records, reports or observations * Enhanced DBS clearance * Full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle If your skills match the above criteria, please apply with your up-to-date CV or contact Leah at Belmont Recruitment
