JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Theatre / Stage Technical Manager who has a full understanding of the operation of technical tools, software, and requirements such as stage lighting, rigging, sound, and AV for various theatre productions, comedy shows, and live music events.
The Theatre is currently closed for major improvements funded by the Government’s Levelling Up Fund, scheduled to reopen in Summer 2024.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Theatre / Stage Technical Manager to be in place for the reopening, ensuring all technical requirements are met safely and professionally.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of technical management in similar venues, be passionate, self-motivated, well-organized, and able to lead by example.
They will be committed to providing excellent customer service to ensure smooth and professional performances.

DUTIES
* Prepare and manage technical aspects of events, ensuring safety and professionalism
* Support visiting companies and attend pre-production meetings
* Provide technical support for various events
* Participate in technical work for productions
* Recruit, lead, and communicate effectively with the technical team
* Create and manage the technical team rota
* Operate lighting, sound, rigging, and fly systems
* Maintain technical equipment
* Organize get-in and get-out procedures
* Implement health and safety procedures
* Ensure fire safety and regular equipment inspections
* Prepare staging areas and create risk assessments and method statements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* NVQ technical stage level 2 or equivalent
* Understanding of technical tools, software, and production requirements
* Experience in theatre or entertainment technical units
* Skills in lighting, sound, AV, rigging, scenic construction, and facilities management
* Strong communication skills
* Organized with good time management
* Creative, flexible, and able to work under pressure
* Knowledge of current technical procedures and technology
* Experience managing mid-scale productions
* Ability to work independently and problem-solve
