Position: Field Service Engineer - UK&I - Machinery Maintenance - Glass Industry - Electrical bias essential
Salary & Benefits: £40-45k salary + travel time rate + company car (with private usage) + other benefits
Location: Must live within 90 minutes of Wolverhampton (Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Stoke, Sheffield, Leicester, Coventry)
Candidate Requirements
* Experience as a service or maintenance engineer, repairing large machinery in manufacturing
* Electrical qualifications, able to work safely with 24v and 415v systems
* Willing to work a field-based role with minimal weekend work, paid travel time outside 8-5 hours, and fully expensed overnight stays for work away
* Full UK driving license and UK passport (Ireland work occasionally required)
Role Overview
Our client specializes in Insulating Glass and Glass Processing Machinery. The role involves varied tasks, including machinery installation, on-call repairs, and servicing, with rare out-of-hours callouts.
Responsibilities
* Service, repair, and install machinery at customer sites
* Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks
* Ensure resources, tools, and parts are available for repairs
* Accurately document work, including serial numbers, parts used, and unresolved issues
Qualifications
* Experience in electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic repair
* City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent
* Experience with glass industry equipment is a bonus but training will be provided
* Good communication skills and customer service experience
* Proficiency in Word and Excel, PC literate
* Full UK driver’s license and valid UK passport (minimum 9 months validity)
