Job Description
Our client in the IT sector is seeking an experienced and Qualified Senior Financial Accountant to join our London office, reporting to the Finance Director. This is a hands‑on role with broad responsibilities, including oversight of financial reporting submissions and day‑to‑day accounting operations.
Job Purpose:
Management of two business units, internal IT recharges across the Group, and balance sheet reconciliations for the company. We are looking for someone who can prepare and review monthly financial reporting, lead two team members on a day‑to‑day basis, and support the management team in understanding monthly results.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation and submission of monthly reports and associated schedules for the APPS business unit (DAS).
* Review and submission of monthly reports and associated schedules for the Renewables business unit (REN).
* Review of monthly IT internal recharges.
* Review and control of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Submission of figures in the consolidation pack to Head Office.
* Control of month end journal posting including WIP, prepayments, accruals, holiday provisions for DAS and REN business units.
* Ensuring DAS and REN projects and WIP comply with accounting standards relating to revenue recognition.
* Reconciliation of monthly Management Accounts for DAS and REN.
* Production of monthly management analytic reports for DAS and REN.
* Management of half-year reviews and year end statutory audits for the relevant BUs.
* Preparation of annual budgets with input from the Business Unit Directors for relevant BUs.
* Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and internal controls.
* Supervising, managing and mentoring 2 team members and providing ad-hoc support to the Finance Director and CFO.
Qualifications:
* Academic degree in Economics, Finance or equivalent with relevant work experience.
* Ideally Fully qualified or in the final stages of qualification as an Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Experience in a project driven accounting environment (T&M, FP and hardware/software sales) is an advantage, but not essential.
* Experience with Sage 50 is an advantage, but not essential.
