Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Casualty Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of public and employers’ liability claims for local government clients. Responsibilities include handling claims from initial notification to settlement, making decisions on liability, fraud, and quantum, and overseeing cases through litigation. The role involves liaising with stakeholders such as clients, brokers, suppliers, claimants, and their representatives via various communication channels including phone, email, and video conferencing.

We value enthusiastic, proactive, and experienced claims handlers to join our Tamworth team. Maintaining strong client relationships is essential, and occasional attendance at meetings via video conferencing may be required. We support colleagues interested in career progression within Gallagher Bassett.


Key Responsibilities

* Manage public and employers' liability claims for local government clients from start to finish.
* Assess liability, fraud, and quantum, making informed decisions based on evidence and policy terms.
* Oversee claims through litigation in collaboration with legal teams.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders through multiple channels.
* Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
* Maintain accurate claim files, ensuring policy and procedural compliance.
* Collaborate internally to improve claims processes.
* Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.


Candidate Profile

* Understanding of proactive claims handling and insurance principles.
* Experience handling public and employers’ liability claims up to £25,000 without referral.
* Confidence in managing claims exceeding £25,000 under authority.
* Knowledge of MOJ Portal Claims handling.
* Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
* Experience with larger losses and police claims is a plus.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
