Production Manager
We are a growing and fast-paced business looking for a Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of production within a quality-driven environment, playing a key role in delivering operational excellence and supporting continued business growth.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will lead all production activities, ensuring safe, efficient operations, maintaining high quality standards, and consistently delivering production targets and deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
* HACCP - Part of the HACCP team, ensuring daily implementation of CCP, documentation and review
* GMP – Ensure high Good Manufacturing Process standard is held, documented and enforced
* SALSA – Expert in the SALSA standard, annual documentation and audit review, co-host to auditors
* Safety and compliance – ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations
* People manager of all operational assistants and supervisors
* Production – ownership of set up, build, close downs
* Lead recruitment of junior production and packaging employees
* Product quality, ensuring every batch meets the quality contract requirements
* Training, organise and lead all relevant training sessions, creating SOPs for all core activities
* Production planning, running a production schedule inline with demand and new product launch
* Managing production and component orders inline with company forecast
* Purchasing, management and relevant documentation of all componentry
* Senior operational cover – providing upwards support when sickness, holiday or absenteeism
* Assist the Quality team with all process
* Prepare in preparation for and during customer visits and third-party audits, co-host
* Implement continuous improvement to production systems and process
* Equipment failure, working with third party suppliers to ensure minimum down time of all equipment
* Equipment maintenance, ensure a diary of annual maintenance is booked with third party partners
* Own and deliver on key performance indicators set by senior management on quality parameters
* Purchasing autonomy to budget
* Promote a positive culture of food safety ensuring all team members follow protocol
* An available expert to the wider business on product and production
* A leader and mentor in the Operations team, ensuring a collaborative culture
About You:
* Knowledge or understanding of HACCP, GMP, SALSA, and Health & Safety (training can be provided)
* A natural leader with the confidence to manage and motivate teams
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
* Detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards
* Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
* Driven to improve processes and contribute to business growth

Location and team:
