Lead Infrastructure Engineer
£70,162 with an additional recruitment and retention allowance of £5,720 per annum.
This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, or part-time with a minimum coverage of 30 hours. Flexible or compressed working hours available. This role is based in the office.
Are you ready for a dynamic role that exposes you to unique and exciting IT infrastructure challenges? Working alongside an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll manage the facilities and infrastructure required by our evaluation engineers to conduct detailed validation tests. You’ll collaborate with partners to develop high-quality, unique infrastructure solutions that support security.
As an expert, you'll bring your proven experience in designing, developing, and supporting infrastructure systems to deliver medium to long-term product development strategies, all whilst defining engineering guidelines and establishing effective ways of working.
Within our dynamic, inclusive, and innovative environment, you will engage with multiple departments to achieve shared objectives and influence technical direction. Collaborating with Cyber Security and Digital Forensic experts, you’ll build, support, and maintain crucial infrastructure, whilst developing skills and deepening your expertise in Software, Infrastructure, Penetration Testing, and communication techniques.
More About You
This role is based on the DDaT Infrastructure Engineer framework. To apply, you will already have:
* Demonstrable experience of leading infrastructure teams, making strategic decisions, and taking responsibility for a range of different platforms and systems.
* Proven experience with the design and implementation of enterprise infrastructure.
* Significant depth and breadth of technical services and solutions, such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Windows server administration, Linux system administration.
* Proven experience of maintaining infrastructure systems, equipment, networks, and services.
It would be beneficial if you also have one of the following (although these are not essential):
* Practical experience of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.
* Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ and Security+ (or equivalent experience/certification).
* Practical experience of scripting tools, e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash.
* Knowledge of RF Mast architecture and associated antenna and cabling distribution architecture.

Putting your skills to use
Within the evaluations team, you will:
* Work with Infrastructure Engineers and Technicians to design, implement, and support existing server infrastructure.
* Lead the preparation and conduct of product trials on and off-site.
* Lead the support strategy of products and solutions.
* Manage the administration of our bespoke evaluations infrastructure.
* Lead project planning and meetings, working with senior stakeholders to provide strategic direction for infrastructure systems.
With suitable training, you will also:
* Conduct asset management of lab equipment, identify future equipment needs, purchase new equipment, and arrange maintenance and servicing.
* Maintain and manage test facilities including RF Screened Rooms, Compact Test ranges with technologies like 5G, GNSS, WiFi 7, Bluetooth, and NB-IoT/LTE-M.
