Quality Engineer
Hybrid position that will involve travel to our Peterborough office a couple of times a month.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Collaborate with developers and product owners to define clear, testable acceptance criteria.
* Design, write, and execute test cases based on user stories and technical specifications.
* Develop and maintain automated tests to support regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
* Integrate automated tests into the squad's delivery pipelines and workflows.
* Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues.
* Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
* Contribute to test data management and environment readiness.
* Monitor, analyse, and report on quality metrics such as test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.
* Provide actionable insights from quality metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Participate in squad ceremonies and advocate for quality at every stage of the development lifecycle.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
* Experience in software testing within Agile or DevOps environments.
* Understanding of test automation principles and practices.
* Familiarity with scripting or programming for test automation.
* Solid grasp of software development processes and testing methodologies.
* Ability to track and report on quality metrics using dashboards or reporting tools.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred
* Non-functional testing including performance and security TDD practices.
* Ability to balance multiple activities in a fast-paced delivery environment.
