Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation, and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - As a key member of the School/Faculty Team, the role will support Academic Excellence in its broadest sense, as directed by the pressures/demands of the schools and faculties, at varying periods throughout the academic year. The postholder will provide a comprehensive and professional support service to the Faculty/School leadership teams and will be involved in undertaking project work, analysis and research under three broad headings: Research, Teaching and Placement Support. However, while the main focus may be on one of these work streams, the focus may change according to the stage in the academic cycle. - ABOUT YOU - - Evidence of a good standard of literacy and numeracy as demonstrated by qualifications at GCSE grade C or higher, or by relevant work experience. - Experience of supporting at least one of the following areas within a higher education (or similar) context: quality assurance; academic audits; inspection by accrediting bodies; pursuit of excellence in teaching; research activity. - Experience of organising events and making travel and related arrangements, and of servicing meetings in a business/work environment, including taking notes and making a personal contribution to the work/actions arising from committees/meetings. - Experience of extraction and input of data within management information systems/databases, as well as drafting routine correspondence, papers, reports and spreadsheets and preparation and formatting of documents across different desktop and IT office applications. - Working knowledge of a complex financial operating system within an organisation, with experience of supplying information for monitoring grants and budgets.
