Overview
Associate Educational Psychologist role within the Education, Schools & Inclusion – Educational Psychology Service at Gateshead Council. The service supports inclusion and positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people through solution‑oriented approaches and evidence‑based psychology. The team has a central base in Gateshead with hybrid working options and strong administrative support.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the Statutory Needs Assessment of children and young people with special educational needs by providing effective, high quality and outcomes‑based psychological advice.
* Engage in other work as needed, within the service remit.
* Deliver applied psychology services with knowledge of current legislation and issues within Special Educational Needs and school improvement.
* Use evidence‑based practice with children, young people and associated professionals in education and community settings.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within local authorities as an Educational Psychologist, with the ability to produce high quality advice and reports.
* Honours Degree in Psychology providing eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered (GBC) membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* Postgraduate training in Educational Psychology recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and HCPC registration is essential.
* Current driving licence and access to a car or mobility support.
