Overview

This role offers an experienced Qualified Social Worker the opportunity to play a key part in strengthening the quality, accuracy and impact of social care advice within Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Working across multiple teams and in partnership with education and health colleagues, you will ensure that the social care elements of EHCPs are robust, legally compliant and reflective of children's assessed needs. You will also contribute to improving EHCP processes across the Trust through expert guidance, coaching and quality assurance.


Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality, timely, and legally compliant social care advice for EHCPs, ensuring it accurately reflects assessed needs and required provision.
* Undertake quality assurance of EHCP social care advice completed by social workers across the Trust.
* Offer professional guidance, feedback, and coaching to colleagues to enhance the quality and consistency of EHCP contributions.
* Contribute to service development initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding responsibilities.
* Build effective working relationships with internal and external partners to support a joined‑up approach to EHCP development.


Qualifications

* Qualified Social Worker (QSW) – Post ASYE (3+ Years' Experience).
* Social Work England registration and a recognised social work qualification.
* Minimum three years' post-ASYE experience across children's social care, early help, safeguarding, disability or related areas.
* Strong understanding of the role of social care within EHCPs and the importance of clear, accurate and evidence-based advice.
* Confident reviewing and quality assuring social care documentation.
* Excellent communication, influencing and partnership‑working skills.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multi‑agency environment.
